How to make your own oat milk at home!

Writer's picture: RoisinRoisin

So, I know in this crazy time we're currently living in, some people can't make it out and about to the shops, or don't want to risk heading out when it may just be something simple, yet essential that they need, like milk. Well let me tell you how you can easily make your own oat milk at home. It is yummy, so easy to make and you probably already have all the ingredients you need in your house! It can be used in tea, coffee, cereal, in baking, or whatever your heart desires! Just bare in mind that it will separate naturally once left to settle, but do not worry or let that put you off, just simply shake it up before you use it for a delicious creamy oat milk!

Instructions:

1. In a blender add 1 cup of oats and 3 cups of water

2. Add a tablespoon of your favourite sweetener (maple syrup, honey, cane sugar, coconut sugar, agave syrup, whatever you have!)

3. Add a dash of vanilla extract, about 1 teaspoon

4. Blend it all up

5. Strain this all through a clean tea-towel, an old t-shirt, muslin cloth or a cloth bag, just something porous and clean, and in to a jug

6. Pour it in to your favourite glass bottle or container and there you have it!
